Taco Tuesday

Since we have been in Bay St Louis, Taco Tuesday has taken on a whole new meaning.  A couple of weeks ago, we went to The Blind Tiger for tacos.  Oh my goodness!  Dave prefers the mahi mahi & I am hooked on the shrimp ones.  They have quite a "kick" but are oh so very good!

How to spend a great Sunday

April 25 - last Sunday in April.

Beautiful day the Lord has given us!  We started the day by worshipping in this wonderful, historic church. Just voted #8 in the State of Mississippi.  I would sure like to visit the others!

Main Street United Methodist Church

Bay St Louis, MS

After church, a short walk across the street to have brunch at Mockingbird Cafe. Also, a noted place in Old Bay St Louis.  The coffee was wonderful. Dave had Belgian waffle, I had my first ever Chicken & Waffles. We weren't impressed.  The atmosphere was great, though

Home, rest a bit, load up for the beach and off we go.  Ah....salt water and sand.

The beach is nice. People are having fun. So nice to see people out enjoying the great outdoors.

That's a beach chair calling my name.

little floaties that washed up on the shore

After a couple of hours in the sun, time for a refreshing drink at one of the many Shaggy's locations we like to visit.

After a convincing commercial on the TV at Shaggy's it's a stop at Domino's for pizza on the way home.

And that is just about a perfect day.

April 23, 2021

Following dinner in Bay St Louis, we stopped for a walk on the beach in Waveland. Very nice and doesn't have  "no dogs" posted. This is a good option for taking the fur babies with us.

campfire back at the park.  Very nice evening. Rain headed our way, but no sign of it tonight.

Last Day for Dogs on the Beach

April 20, 2021
Last day for dogs to be allowed on the beach!  How sad is that?  On April 21, we were able to get to a beach that the signs weren't posted yet.  We will have to find a different beach to take the fur babies along.

Enjoyed the day anyway.

Armadillo

YES,  that is an armadillo on the beach.
  A dead one.
  Where he came from?
  Cuba, Mexico ??

Nobody knows I guess.

More Power

On the left -  F250 Diesel
On the right - F150 Gas

Came in with the Gas - going home with Diesel.

With our relocation from Livingston, TX to Bay St Louis, MS - we decided that we needed a bigger tow vehicle.  In order to keep the Texas registration, we drove back to Texas to pick up the new ride. One good thing that came out of COVID - you can choose, finance and have truck ready to just pick-up at the dealer. Sure cut down on the time spent there.

Yes, I have driven it.  It is big, but I can handle it.

On the way home, we got a far off view of LSU.

Beach Day

April 11, a good day to finally get to visit the beach. The rain has given us a break and we are ready to soak up some sun and walk in the sand.

Dave and I met by writing letters to each other while he was in the Air Force. He was a roommate with my future brother-in-law.

After my sister and brother-in-law married, I came to visit them in Gulfport, MS for part of the summer. So, on the beach, across the road from their house is where Dave and I got to know each other.

Yes, here we are 53 years later, returning to the scene of that first summer.

It is great to be on the beach.  I love salt water and sand.

Sugar and Riley are enjoying the day with us.  Happens to be National Pet Day - so they had to pose for their photo.

First United Methodist Church, Bay St Louis

A beautiful building and a welcoming congregation inside.

Our church home while we were in Livingston.  It is a gorgeous

Marci meeting

A great event happened in Livingston.  We had the pleasure of meeting a friend and fellow high school attendee of mine.  We have communicated on Facebook for several years, but never met in person.  Well, here at the end of COVID isolation, we had a chance to meet in-person!

She was just as great as I had imagined.  We just had the best time! Talked like we had known each other forever.

Have a date to meet up again next April.

Love you Marci Jacks!

Yes, we are short and posing with an alligator carved statue at Shrimp Boat Manny's in Livingston, TX.

Galveston

 March 20th

Yep, forgot all about Spring Break and headed to Galveston.  Oh the traffic around Houston.  Said I never wanted to do that again. Well, we did it at least two more times while we were in the Texas.

Any day at the beach is a good day though. We enjoyed the kites flying about. The skies were gorgeous and the salt air was soothing.

Beautiful day for kites

Huntsville

 March 19th

I made a trip to Huntsville to visit my dear friend Phyllis.  I don't even know how long it's been since we got together, but way too long!

We had a two hour lunch and talked, and talked, and talked, ate pie and then talked some more.

If every in Huntsville, you simply must try City Hall Cafe & Pie Bar. You won't be disappointed in the decor, the staff or the food.

Livingston, TX

 March 13th

Folks, this is not Canton by any stretch of the imagination, but we did happen to be in Livingston for Trade Days.  It was nice to get out in the town and look for what they had to offer.

I did purchase a Snap Necklace and several changes for it.  Fun, inexpensive and doesn't take up much room! That's important.

We spent some time at Livingston State Park. So peaceful there. Some days we walked, some we sat and watched the wildlife, some we played Farkle, some we had a picnic.  Each day was a joy in it's own way.

They have a steel slide here, yep, just like when we were kids.  Burn your buns on a hot day!  We were surprised to see one still in use.

Escapees

Escapees - -

The days seem long, but the months are flying by. It is April already! Long days - yes, no obligations clouding our calendar.  We pretty much just "go with the flow".  It's very nice.

Here we are, March 9,  all set up at Escapees RV Park in Livingston, TX. This is now our "home" Have driver's license and voter's registration. This is our permanent address.

141 Rainbow Dr #4160, Livingston, TX 77399-1041

Whenever we decide we are ready, Livingston folks will send us our mail wherever we are.

Every day, we walked from our spot to the mail room to get our mail.  It was beautiful and always changing.  Different flowers in bloom all the time. The dogs really looked forward to this every day. Well, at least Riley did.  Sugar, tolerated the adventure. Some days she really was slow, but made it every time.
